Satalla::The Temple Of World Music::

A Brief Summary
regarding my decision to sell/close Kavehaz and Satalla

My name is Michael Yaacobi, and I am the founder of Kavehaz (’95) and Satalla (’03).

Kavehaz opened in 1995 in Soho where live Jazz by emerging musicians was made accessible, with no cover and no age restrictions, in a comfortable and beautiful surrounding. Over the last 10 years, thousands of performers have graced our stage for an uncountable number of shows. In addition to the music that was performed every night, on the walls there were art exhibits that changed monthly, displaying over 100 art shows throughout the years.

Parallel to Kavehaz I opened Satalla, my longtime dream, a place with an atmosphere that was lacking in NYC. A place where live music from around the world was set in an environment that fosters an awareness of the world’s cultures; where the beauty of music and the communication of diverse cultures is all that is important. I created a venue where musicians were close to their audiences, and in turn, the audience was within reach to the performers. Since its opening in 2003, we had a total of 1500 shows with 8000 musicians from around the globe perform at Satalla. I am fortunate to have met so many interesting and high quality musicians and performers.

This success, however, was not easy to achieve – in the end, it was the hard work around the clock that wore me out physically and emotionally. I came to a situation where I asked myself which is more important: to keep running these music clubs 7 days a week, 16 hours a day, or to save my own sanity.

I have decided to get my life back. I don’t know exactly what I am going to do – I believe it will be connected to music, but on a different level. The first thing I would like to do is travel the world, and listen to the music I have heard over the past few years, in the artists’ original countries.

I would like to thank every one who was part of the Satalla/Kavehaz team for the past 3 years. Special thanks to Steve Lurie our Music Director, Eva Dilmanian our PR person, Lucian Ban and Meredith Blis, our bookers for Kavehaz, Aileen Taylor our Office Manager and of course many thanks to the waitstaff, barstaff and kitchen people that ran the place every night. Also, I would like to express my gratitude to all the patrons who have attended the shows over the past years, and who have shared my dream with me.

Though this is the end of one chaper, I feel another one will start soon – I love music too much to stay out of it for long. Stay tuned for more information on future productions…..

Get Healthy With CBD Oil

Despite the earlier controversies, CBD shows everyone what it is capable of. It has been helpful against most inflammatory-based condition and even provides relief from chronic pain. Cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy have a lot to thank CBD for because it helps them better deal with the side effects of the treatment especially in managing pain and improving their appetite.

CBD products often do not contain THC. THC or Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol is the main ingredient in recreational cannabis and it causes disorientation and intoxication, not to mention that it has habit-forming properties as well. Meanwhile, medical CBD offers the same beneficial effects as THC without these side effects. You feel better when you use it without getting that high feeling, so you basically feel good and stay sober at the same time. It was only in recent decades when CBD-rich hemp plants were bred and cultivated intentionally, which is also the reason why medical CBD is relatively new in the field of science and research. Making certain modifications on the plant’s strain allowed farmers to introduce a new breed of natural remedy that has actually been around for ages.

The new is getting attention in Australia for its CBD oil & hemp extracts.

You get healthy with the help of CBD because it acts on certain receptors in the body, to be specific, receptors found in the endocannabinoid system (ECS). These receptors are CB1 and CB2 but CBD is known to attach to CBD receptors that are responsible for the immune response and pain perception. Hence, CBD has become synonymous with pain relief and at this day and age when the public has had enough of synthetic pain relievers that are costly, addicting, and over time requires you to increase your dose, the use of medical CBD is a great natural alternative to keeping your pain to the bare minimum.

You can’t blame these people to try the less traveled road especially if pain has been a big part of their lives because of their conditions. It now helps that there are studies supporting the medical claims of CBD on a number of health conditions. There is actually substance in its claims and not just because people believe it healed them in some way. Most of these studies are conducted on laboratory animals but a few groundbreaking ones already have human participants in their clinical trials.

There are likewise claims that CBD can also help smokers quit smoking. Other touted benefits include relief or even treat neurologic symptoms and disorders, overcome anxiety attacks, help with diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, and even acne. The odds are also in your favor in case you feel that the time has come for you to give it a try with laws already in place supporting the sale and use of medical cannabis in various parts of the United States. Back then, families had to uproot their roots and move from one state to the other just to have access to it but times have changed. This once frowned upon remedy is now proving its worth in science and the public is here to enjoy the fruit of its labor.
